In the Orthodox Church, we begin February celebrating the Great Feast of the Meeting of the Lord, which completes the 80-day Nativity-Theophany cycle. We conclude February with preparations for Great Lent. For our parish, the Meeting of the Lord Feast is special not only because it is one of the 12 Great Feasts of our Church, but also because it marks the Anniversary of the founding of St. Athanasius. Moreover, we give thanks to God for the 1-year Anniversary of our new church’s Dedication and the Ordination of our beloved Deacon Simeon Siskar (Axios!) at the hands of Archbishop Nikon.
