As Paschaltide continues, we look forward to the Great Feast of Pentecost, which marks a beginning of sorts to “summertime” here in our parish. For our parish community, there are a number of much-loved celebrations and events connected with this time of year:
- 9am Sunday School wraps up on Sunday May 21 (with a special final session at 9am Sunday, May 28, as Fr. Justin serves the pre-Liturgy service known as Proskomedia in the nave for all to see)
- Special Memorial Day Prayers for Fallen Soldiers on Sunday, May 28
- The celebration of the Great Feasts of Ascension (May 24/25) and Pentecost (June 3/4) complete with our annual “Tongues of Fire” Chili Cookoff on Pentecost Day
- Our Annual Pan-Orthodox Vacation Church School (hosted this year by Holy Mother Greek Orthodox Church, June 5-9, 9am to noon–registration info now online!)
- The Feasts of All Saints and All Saints of North America, the Apostles’ Fast, and the Feast of Ss. Peter & Paul
- Youth Group Annual Hike to the Red River Gorge, June 11
- and many more events (see our calendar for more detailed information…)
